Threadframe is a Chrome extension that lets you select Reddit comments and export them as a clean PNG card for sharing on LinkedIn or X. This policy explains what data the extension accesses and how it is handled.

What data does Threadframe access?

When you are on a Reddit thread page, Threadframe reads the following from the page DOM in your browser:

• Comment text, author usernames, and upvote counts of comments you explicitly select
• The post title, subreddit name, and (optionally) post body text
• Post images or video thumbnails already loaded in your browser for the current page

This data is used solely to render the card preview and generate the PNG you download.

Does Threadframe collect or transmit any data?

No. Threadframe does not collect, store, transmit, or share any data with any server or third party. Everything happens entirely within your browser.

• No analytics or tracking of your browsing activity
• No Reddit API calls
• No account or login required
• No data ever leaves your device

What is stored locally?

Threadframe uses chrome.storage.local (your browser's local storage) only to remember your preferences for a specific Reddit thread — for example, whether you had "Include post body" turned on. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time by removing the extension.

Permissions explained

• activeTab — required to read the Reddit thread you are actively viewing in order to extract comment content for the card. Only activates when you click the extension icon.
• scripting — declared in the manifest; all injection is handled via bundled content scripts. No external scripts are executed.
• storage — used for per-thread preference storage as described above.
• Host permission (reddit.com) — required for the content script to run on Reddit pages. The extension is completely inactive on all other websites.

Third-party services

Threadframe uses Sentry for crash and error reporting. If the extension encounters an unhandled error, a report containing the error message and stack trace may be sent to Sentry. This report does not contain any Reddit content, usernames, or personally identifiable information. Sentry's privacy policy is available at sentry.io/privacy.

Children's privacy

Threadframe is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will be updated. Continued use of the extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
